Samantha walked out of Mani Rathnam’s upcoming Kadal movie. Tulasi,
the second daughter of yesteryear actress Radha, has been roped in instead.
Samantha was signed for the female lead role of Kadal movie
a few months before. She joined for the shooting of this movie and some
sequences of her portions was shot. Suddenly the actress quit out of the
prestigious movie and rumors sparked off like more other interesting offers, date
issues and sickness.
Samantha is currently working in Naan Ee and Neethane En Pon
Vasantham and some other Telugu projects. She was very much interested to work
with Mani Rathnam and told that it was a dream for her to be a part in
Mani Rathnam’s film. Now all of a sudden Samantha walked out of the film and she
wrote in her microblogging page as "Unfortunately I had to opt out of Mani
Sir's film, my loss! But had to do it cause of my being sick left my dates in a
huge mess".
Report says that the shooting of Kadal movie started and
some scenes were shot with Samantha, but the film makers felt that Samantha is
looking as matured girl pairing with Gautham to do the role of 13 year old girl. Now the film makers roped a 14 year old school going
girl, Tulasi to do the female lead of Kadal. She will be joining the shooting
after a workshop.
Kadal is the forthcoming Tamil film written, directed and
produced by Manirathnam under the banner of Madras Talkies, featuring a
debutant actor Gautham, the son of yesteryear actor Karthik in the lead role.
Arjun, Aravindsamy, Pasupathi, Thambi Ramysh and Lakshmi Munchu are playing the
other roles. A. R. Rahman scores music and the lyrics penned by Vairamuthu and
his son Madhan Karky. While, the camera will be helmed by Rajiv Menon and
editing work wil be done by A. Sreekar Prasad.
